Hello!

We're a community of believers who love comics, art, and pop culture. Dreamers and creators united by Fellowship, Faith, and Fandom. Proudly supported by DeoWorks, a Christian nonprofit building Christ-centered connections.

Who We Are

Phong Bui-Quang

I became a believer back in 1996 while I was a student at Cal Poly SLO, but I’ve been a comic book and superhero fan for much longer.  My hope for Koinonia Con is to be able to help us Christian pop culture fans to merge our faith with our fandom as well as to help the church to see how God is using the creative arts to expand His Kingdom.

Jon Chew

I have been a Christian for over 40 years and sharing God’s word is great joy. Leading Bible studies has shown me the power of connection, and I want to help create that with Koinoia Con through activities that get people talking, connecting, and working together. I am a member of the 501st Legion Star Wars cosplay group. My goal is to blend my love for cosplay with my love for God, creating a space where both Christians and non‑Christians feel comfortable, curious, and excited to participate, discovering community and faith in ways that feel natural, joyful, and interactive.

Eric Lee

Beyond his day job in education, Eric has written for web comics, books, and fan sites. Additionally, he has illustrated children's books, zines, and web comics. Most recently, he contributed to "Comics Lit Vol. 1"- a collection that does a deep analysis of comic books. He also holds four collegiate degrees. Ironically, none are actually related to art or writing.
